On Sunday, following severe thunderstorm and hailstorms in parts of the district resulting in a trail of devastation, the Tinsukia district administration of the state has ordered to close all schools and colleges of the district on April 24.
The weather department also predicted that isolated hailstorms are likely over Assam and Meghalaya.
Isolated heavy rainfall may occur over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on March 27-29, IMD informed.
Heavy rainfall is likely over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya from March 19th-22nd and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from March 20th-22nd.
Heavy rainfalls are very likely to occur over Arunachal Pradesh on 21 and 22 February.
Moderate to dense fog is expected in pockets of the West Himalayan region and Indo-Gangetic plains, including Delhi and Chandigarh, during night/morning hours.

The RMC has issued ‘Red Alert’ for Assam and Meghalaya and predicted up to isolated and scattered “extremely heavy rainfall” from Tuesday to Thursday, while ‘Orange Alert’ for Friday and Saturday.
