Reportedly, the government imposed section 144 in the district for the upcoming Durga Puja and Diwali celebrations.

However, any person aggrieved by the order is at liberty to appear before the DCP for filling written objection, if any, for cancellation/modification of the order, the notification stated further
From now on, gatherings of more than 5 persons in public places of the district will be prohibited
The order comes in to force with immediate effect and will remain in force until further order throughout the district of Cachar.
