Supreme Court releases Rajiv Gandhi assassination convict
Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on the night of May 21, 1991 at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu by a woman suicide bomber, identified as Dhanu, at a poll rally.

The plea was filed by Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, an advocate and child rights activist, along with the Students Union of Odisha-NYCS as the second petitioner.
The bench said that the court has already passed an order in the matter and it should be implemented.
SC said, “Interfering in the exam process just 48 hours before it commences could result in chaos and uncertainty.”
The top court said its committee will submit a report within a specified time after examining the records on the security arrangements.
A judge, who reportedly had a fever, attended the farewell party of Justice R Subhash Reddy on Tuesday and later returned a positive result.
