Guwahati: Assam cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s tweet on Assam Congress probably reached the international borders, as now a Taiwanese girl slammed Assam Congress for allegedly using a photo of a tea garden from Taiwan to say “Assam Bachao”.
The Taiwanese girl in a video said, “Hello, I am Mia, I am from Taiwan Taipee, I heard a political party in India are using Taiwan tea garden pictures in their posts for votes. I don’t know why they are using our country’s picture. But I just want to request them please don’t involve our country in your politics, thanks.”
Earlier, mocking at the Congress party and its ongoing campaign “Axom Basaon Ahok”, Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a picture of ‘Assam Bachao’ page in his Twitter handle saying, “Official Congress campaign page is using photo of tea garden from Taiwan to say “Assam Bachao”. Congress leaders can’t even recognize Assam? This is an insult of Assam and Tea Garden workers of our state.”
Later, Assam congress in their reply tweeted, “This is a fake screenshot. We never published any such image anywhere. Having failed to keep its promise of raising tea workers’ wages to Rs 350, BJP is rattled by Congress’ guarantee of Rs 365 per day within 30 days of coming to power.”
Meanwhile, several twitteritis had urged Assam Congress and its leaders saying “kindly don’t embarrass India”.
