    Temple Vandalized, Idol Burnt In Assam’s Barpeta

    The miscreants vandalized the idol of Laxmi and looted the gold and silver ornaments of the idol

    In a sensational incident, a miscreant vandalized and set ablaze the shrine of Laxmi Mandir located in Keotkuchi of Barpeta in the wee hours of October 9th, 2019. The incident just a few days ahead of Laxmi Puja has sparked off a sensation in the entire area.

    The miscreant vandalized the idol of Laxmi and looted the gold and silver ornaments of the idol. Besides, the miscreant damaged the floor of the temple and also torn apart the posters and banners of the forthcoming Laxmi Puja.

    Locals caught the miscreant identified as Rafikul Ali of Shantipur and handed over to the police. An FIR has been lodged in relation to the case.
