A video of a local vendor from Arunachal Pradesh wrapping fish and meat with a leaf for his customer has gone viral on social media. The video, which was tweeted by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju a few days back, shows a local vendor wrapping fish and meat in a leaf and tying it using other parts of the leaf in order to give it to his customers.
The 59-second clip has won hearts of many. Netizens are showering heaps on praises on the vendor for ditching plastic and showing the way to curb pollution.
“PM @narendramodi has told us not to use plastics so we are using local leaves because plastics are no more available”. A local meat vendor at remote Tirbin, Lepa Rada Dist, Arunachal Pradesh,” Rijiju captioned the video detailing what the vendor says.
Prime Minister Modi has called for everyone to join hands and make the country free of single-use plastic items by 2022.
As soon as the video was shared by the Union Minister, netizens loved the environment-friendly hacks and hailed the vendor’s noble gesture.
