Need saree inspiration this Saraswati Puja? Takes cues from Deepika Padukone

Basant Panchami is a festival that marks the beginning of preparations for the King of all Seasons, Spring. For many Basant Panchami is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati— the goddess of knowledge, language, music and all arts.

Saraswati Puja is considered important not just for the rituals but for another reason. It is the day when our fashion-savvy ladies dedicate to getting draped flaunting their desi side. Right from pandal hopping to enjoying some tasty ‘khichdi’ this is the day to play dress up.

So with just a few days away for the D-day, we have a go-to saree guide right from our favourite fashionista Deepika Padukone’s wardrobe.

Our lady love apparently knows how to keep it classy and sassy and looks extravagant at any public event. After appearing at a number of promotional events for the release of ‘Chhapaak’ our B-town babe totally slayed at Javed Akhtar’s birthday bash.

Draped in a Sabyasachi ensemble, the Padmaavat actor looked like a dream in an elegant white sheer sari. She chose to stick to her signature bun and paired it with a silver blouse with matching bangles and earrings.

Her make up was subtle with a tint of pink blush, brown lip shade. She chose to complete the makeup with the classic Indian khol eyes.
