Guwahati, April 17, 2019
Firebrand leader and Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) advisor, Akhil Gogoi on April 17th, 2019 slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Assam government and said that Assamese casting their vote in favour of BJP are not a ‘true Assamese’.
“Bringing illegal foreigners into Assam is the poll plank of BJP.”, said Akhil Gogoi while referring to Ram Madhav’s speech at the Silchar where he reiterated about party’s commitment to passing the Citizenship Bill.
“A section of Assamese is still trying to help the saffron party. Even after this, if any Assamese votes for BJP, he/she is not a true Assamese.”
“We witnessed Modi wave in General Elections 2014 but this year, we are seeing communal politics. I want to aware the each and every Assamese that BJP will bring Citizenship Bill immediately after July 31st. This is a conspiracy to give citizenship to all those excluded from Assam NRC through this Bill.”, added Gogoi while addressing the media.
It may be mentioned that after the successful completion of the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, five more constituencies will go for polls in the second phase on April 18th 2019. The third phase will be held on April 23rd
The KMSS leader further lambasting the government added, “This government (BJP) says it will never let Assam become Pakistan but has only deported four illegal foreigners over these years. They also promised to seal all the borders by March 31st but have miserably failed,”.
