At least three troopers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were reported to be killed in an alleged militant attack in Baramulla district in Northern Kashmir.
As per report suspected militants fired at a check-post which was jointly guarded by the 179th Battalion of the CRPF and the Jammu & Kashmir Police.
The militants allegedly attacked the personnel near the Ahad Sahab bypass in Sopore which is almost 50 km from Srinagar.
The entire area has now been cordoned and the security forces have initiated a search operation for the suspected militants. Further reinforcements are also being brought in.
It has been reported that this attack takes the number of total attack of security forces to three in just a week.
