Guwahati: Three pickup vans loaded with 19 cattle were seized by Boko police in Bandapara Tiniali on Tuesday.

According to reports, the pickup vans were heading towards neighbouring state Meghalaya.

Based on an input, the Boko police under the aegis of an officer in charge Bhadreswar Pegu intercepted the pickup vans with illegally loaded cattle.

The police arrested five people in connection to the case.

The arrested persons were identified as Laribokphylla Wanniang (27), Fronstar Lyngkhoi (18), Jagadish Rajbongshi (48), Belbor Tyrsat (21) and Kordor Lyngkhoi(48).

It is learned that those arrested were the residents of Meghalaya.
