Agartala: Booking at least 15 train compartments, supporters from Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) and Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) will leave for New Delhi on November 27 next.

The group of over 1500 members from the TIPRA and IPFT will reach New Delhi on November 30 to hold a two-day sit-in dharna at Jantar Mantar before a delegation meets the central leadership to submit the memorandum.

The sit-in dharna will be organized parallelly with the winter session of the Parliament slated from November 29 next.

Speaking with the media, TIPRA Motha chairman, Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman said that the dharna would be held jointly pressing the demand of Greater Tipraland and passing of the Constitution (125th Amendment) Bill, 2019 in the Parliament.

“I have told the IPFT that we both should come under one banner if we need Tipraland and greater Tipraland for which we have to separate from the government. Nothing will happen if we hold protests in parts of Tripura. We need to protest in the center to catch their attention,” Deb Barman said.

The leaders will submit the memorandum in three languages– Kokborok in Roman Script, English and Hindi.
