Guwahati: A jawan of the Border Security Force (BSF) was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a camp in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The deceased jawan identified as Nitul Hazarika is a resident of Na Chungi village in Titabor under the Jorhat district.

As claimed by the F Company of the BSF’s 108th battalion, Nitul Hazarika, 43, allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle at his deployment post in a school in the said district at around 11:30 am.

However, the family members of the deceased soldier smell a conspiracy into the untimely death of Nitul Hazarika and have demanded a probe into the incident.

Notably, Nitul Hazarika, who joined the army in 2004 to serve the motherland, was deputed in the security management of the Amarnath Yatra in southern Kashmir and was the mess commander.
