2019 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is finally out and like every year Universities and various Institutes across the country were judged based on various parameters.
Under the University category, Tezpur University has bagged the 29th position, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has bagged the 39th position, Gauhati University has been placed at the 42nd position, Dibrugarh University has found its place at the 86th position, Silchar’s Assam University is in the 97th position and lastly Rajiv Gandhi University is placed at the 99th position.
Under the Engineering category, Indian Institute of Technology – Guwahati (IIT-G) has been placed at the 7th position, National Institute of Technology, Silchar (NIT Silchar) has bagged the 51st position, NIT Meghalaya has bagged the 67th place and NIT Agartala has bagged the 70th position.
In the Management category, Indian Institute of Management, Shillong has grabbed the 24th position and under the Pharmacy category, Guwahati’s Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science has been placed in the 72nd position.
It may be mentioned, President of India Ram Nath Kovind released the India Rankings – 2019 and presented the India Rankings awards to the top eight institutions in different categories at a function held in New Delhi on April 8th, 2019.
He also released the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) and presented the ARIIA awards to the top two institutions.
In the overall rankings, IIT Guwahati bagged the 9th position, Tezpur University bagged the 48th position, NEHU has grabbed the 62nd position and the Gauhati University has been placed at the 65th position.
