In a temporary relief for Guwahatians, parts of the city on August 16th, 2019 witnessed a short spell of rainfall which brought the temperature down to several notches. 

However, the short-lived heavy downpour coupled with thunderstorm caused water-logging on multiple stretches of Guwahati. Vehicular traffic and pedestrian movement have also been disrupted due to waterlogging on roads. Vehicles were seen wading across water-logged streets.

Commuters faced a tough time due to waterlogging. The traffic came to a standstill at several places due to the flash flood causing inconveniences to the pedestrians and motorists rushing to their respective destinations.
