Train Services Disrupted After Goods Train Derails In Dibrugarh

The train operation between Guwahati and Tinsukia came to a grinding halt in the early hours of December 8th, 2019 after a Guwahati-bound goods train derailed near Naharkatiya railway station in Upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district.

According to reports, the train was moving from Tinsukia railway station when it suddenly went off track losing at least seven wagons. The accident is suspected due to the mechanical failure of tracks.

Reports claimed that that train was repaired only yesterday but went off-guard today morning.

A team of the Railway police, including higher officials, senior engineers immediately reached the spot to restore the train.

Train services connecting lower Assam to remain suspended for four days till the repairment of the tracks.
