GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) to start four more pairs of “Festival Special” trains between October 20 and November 30 keeping the festivities of Durga Puja and Diwali in concern.
To clear the festive rush of passenger, Ministry of Railways has approved running of 196 pairs (392 trains) of “Festival Special” services over Indian Railways.
The fare for these Festival Special services will be that applicable for special trains.
1. Kolkata – Guwahati- Kolkata Bi-weekly special express
2. Guwahati – Secunderabad – Guwahati weekly special express
3. Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati Tri-weekly special express
4. Sealdah – New Alipurduar – Sealdah daily special express
Running of these festival specials is expected to reduce the rush of passengers during the current festive season, said SubhananChanda, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR.
However, passengers have to follow all the COVID protocols strictly.
