The treasury officer of the New Guwahati Treasury has been suspended for allegedly sharing his confidential USER ID and password with an unauthorized person for approving bills and cheques.

The officer – Tazbul Hussain did not monitor the status of payment regularly in the system which had attributed to non-payment of bills submitted by the Director of Social Welfare, the suspension order undersigned by S Jagannathan, Commissioner and Secretary to Government of Assam read.

The officer has been suspended on the basis of the report of Director of Accounts of Treasuries, Assam, Deputy Director, Finance (Budget) department and System Administrator CTMIS.

The order further stated as “During the suspension period his headquarter has been fixed at Guwahati. The officer shall in no case leave the headquarters without the approval of the competent authority.”
