Tribal Affairs minister Arjun Munda to visit Assam on September 12, 13
Guwahati: Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda is slated to visit Assam for two days on September 12 and September 13, a government release stated.
During the course of the visit, the Hon’ble Minister will review the progress of the implementation of the MFP, VDVK and TRIFOOD programmes which have been put in place for the empowerment of the tribals in the state and region.
The purpose of the two day visit by Union minister is to review and assess the ground level implementation, challenges and progress of these tribal development schemes.
The ultimate aim of these programmes, implemented by TRIFED across the country is to bring about a complete transformation of tribal lives and livelihoods across the country and progress towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The minister will also meet chief minister Himanat Biswa Sarma, Governor Jagdish Mukhi, tribal minister of Assam, and other prominent state officials in Guwahati.
One the first day of his visit, Munda will attend a conference on the Voice of North east Janajatiya Leader conference and opon the second day he will attend a workshop conducted in IIE. A visit to the VDVKC in Katakipara in Lokhara is also planned in his itinerary.
Arjun Munda will be accompanied by TRIFED Managing Director Pravir Krishna and senior officials of TRIFED.
