Tripura CPIM secretary Jitendra Choudhury launched scathing attack on BJP
Agartala: Tripura CPIM secretary and former MP Jitendra Choudhury on Friday launched a scathing attack on BJP for destroying democracy across the state.
Addressing the gathering, Jitendra said “After formation of government in 2014, BJP started its authoritarian rule across the country. Constant hike in the prices of commodities, anti-farmer attitude, harassing the opposition political parties and their activists have become the features of the government. The peasant movement in New Delhi has snatched 111 lives so far, but the BJP-led central government is not ready to amend the farm laws”.
Furthering his attack on the state government, Jitendra said “Tripura CM Biplab Deb has prepared his police to launch attack on opposition parties, harass the activists and leaders with false cases. Even the journalists are being assaulted and attacks are being instigated on the media houses”.
“The alluring promises made before the assembly election in 2018 are proven as mere words for befooling people. In this situation the leftist activists must come forward to stage democratic movements against the unruly government”, said CPIM state secretary.
In the programme, CPIM Dhalai district secretary Pankaj Chakraborty, CPIM state committee member Amalendu Debbarma and other leaders remained present along with a good number of party activists.
