Agartala: Journalist Sudip Dutta Bhowmik’s murder was a conspiracy and it was pre-planned. Tripura’s DIG (Northern Range) reportedly stated this on Saturday.
Head of the SIT for investigating the murder of the Journalist, DIG (Northern Range) Arindam Nath, stated that investigation conducted by the team found that the whole murder was a conspiracy and two more arrests were made in this regard. The two arrested ones are naik subedar Amit Debbarma and orderly Dharmendra Singh. These two are currently in police custody.
He added that these two along with TSR commandant Tapan Debbarma and TSR Jawan Nandu Riyang met at least one to plan the whole murder of the journalist. The DIG, however, did not mention what exactly the motive was behind the murder.
Uttam Banerjee, assistant public prosecutor further speaking on the case said that all the four arrested ones were charged with criminal conspiracy under Sections 120 (b), 302, 109 and 27 under the Arms Act. The next hearing on the case will be on December 1.
Editor of the newspaper where Sudip worked for stated that Sudip had written at least 11 articles on the corruption and other such related issues against the TSR commandant Tapan Debbarma and so they murdered him to stop him from revealing their true faces.
