Tripura Journalist’s family demands CBI intervention

Agartala, December 3: The murder case of journalist Sudip Datta Bhowmik has taken another turn as the family members of Bhowmik claim Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take up the matter and initiate a fair investigation.

The family of the deceased journalist alleges that they have lost faith in the State level inquiry as there is a political motive behind the murder of Bhowmik and they think that any investigation in the State level will get influenced by the political pressure.

As per sources, Sujit Bhowmik, brother of the journalist said that recently over four hundred and seventy Assam rifle personnel were shifted to other place and he claims that something huge is going on the higher level and that his brother lost his life as he came to know about it.

The family of Sudip Bhowmik urges CBI to take up this murder case and expose those who are involved in the murder. Journalists family member are very confident that CBI probe into the matter will reveal names of very influential people of Tripura.

Journalist’s wife Seema and son Samip also claimed for the same and reiterated that they want a fair inquiry into the matter and claim justice to Sudip Bhowmik.

Sudip Datta Bhaumik, a journalist at Syandan Patrika, was allegedly shot by a constable of the 2nd Tripura State Rifles in Agartala on November 21. It was the second murder of a journalist in a row which happened after the murder of Shantanu Bhowmik of Din Raat channel.
