    Tripura police seized phensedyl worth Rs 26 lakh, arrests 1

    While searching the truck, the police seized 14,000 bottles of phensidyl packed in many cartons and arrested the driver

    Agartala: The police of Mungiakami under Teliamura sub-division of Khowai district on Sunday seized 14,000 bottles of Phensedyl worth Rs 26 lakh.

    Teliamura sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Tuhitan Tripura told TIME8 that Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans and police personnel were checking vehicles on Sunday in front of a Shiva temple in the 36-mile area under Mungiakami police station. At around 5.30 AM, a truck bearing registration number AS01DC-1315 was coming from Ambassa was proceeding towards Agartala. The police personnel signaled the vehicle to stop and started searching it.

    While searching the truck, the police seized 14,000 bottles of phensidyl packed in many cartons and arrested the driver identified as Manik Sarkar under Ranirbazar police station. He will be produced before the court on Monday, said SDPO.
