Tripura: TMC workers attacked, Shop vandalized
Agartala: Once again, allegations rose against ruling BJP in Tripura as a Trinamool Congress worker Dulal Das of Khayerpur in West district has come under attack on the night of Tuesday.
The BJP has been allegedly accused of attacking Trinamool (TMC) activist Dulal Das at Banikya Chowmahani in Khayerpur, West Tripura.
TMC has alleged that the victim’s Lakshmi Pujo’s shop was vandalized and beaten the night before. Reportedly, a loss of Rs 2 lakh approximately has been incurred.
“As I was walking home after closing the shop on Tuesday night, some BJP workers came in front of my shop and beat me up and threatened me not to go to the grassroots again,” Dulal Das alleged.
Meanwhile, another TMC worker Sushil Modak and his family were also attacked in Jambura village in Khowai district recently. Sushil Modak’s wife and son were allegedly beaten.
According to the Trinamool Congress, Sushil Modak’s house was also vandalized. Sushil Modak and Dulal Das have both been shifted to respective hospitals for treatment.
Tripura TMC convenor Subal Bhowmik said, “BJP goons are attacking opposition activists because they know the police will not take any action against them. More than 10 MLAs, police officers and even videographers have been attacked by goons. Jungle Raj is going on. Police stations are also refusing to take any FIR against BJP”.
The question on behalf of the Trinamool (TMC) is why Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb is silent in the face of this violence against the opposition? And why is the police not taking any action against such a horrific incident Opponents feel that the law and order situation in Tripura has deteriorated and the government is not taking any action against it.
