Two airlines to carry dead bodies of poor NE people from Delhi for Free

Guwahati/New Delhi, April 16: In a Corporate-Social Responsibility, management of Indigo Airlines and Air Vistara have taken an initiative to help the underprivileged people of northeast who die in the national capital by carrying the dead bodies to their State without charging any cost.

According to the officials of Indigo and Vistara, they have received several requests from people of northeast who could not afford the airline cost which is required to carry the body to their concerned States.

IGP Robin Hibu, in-charge of Northeast cell in Delhi has stated in a social website that after receiving plethora of request from NE people living here for free air carriage of coffins to NE states, the department has appealed to all the airlines to provide free assistance to the financially poor families of northeast people but no one agreed and Indian Airlines offered for 50% coverage for the cause.

Out of all, only Indigo and Vistara agreed to offer hundred percent support to the poor people of northeast by offering free coffins and air carriage facility to their respective states. This initiative is being named as “Akhri Ahuti” (last contribution for the dead).
