Two arrested for selling wild animal meat in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, January 12: The police arrested two people for allegedly selling wild animal meat at Shi-Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday.

The two accused have been identified as Tatu Kiri and Sunil Kiri.

A team of forest and police officials after getting information that wild animals were hunted down and their meat were sold in local shops, raided a shop near Hirgo village in Shi-Yomi district and found out that the duo were about to sell a large Indian civet.

On Friday, the accused were produced before an executive magistrate and a case has been filed in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
