    Two decomposed corpses recovered in Hojai

    The officials recovered both the decomposing corpses inside a bedroom

    Guwahati: The Hojai police, on Sunday, recovered two corpses in decomposed condition inside a locked house near the Kalibari area.

    The officials recovered both the decomposing corpses inside a bedroom.

    The deceased were identified as Shanta Paul (80) and Latu Paul (35), said Hojai Police.

    As per police reports, another lady identified as Shathi Paul was rescued from the same house under a very bad condition and was immediately sent to Hojai civil hospital for better medication.

    The Hojai magistrate visited the place and took stock of the situation.

    Speaking to the media, a Hojai police official said, “We have recovered both the decomposed corpses and sent it for post mortem. Another lady was rescued from the house in very bad condition. As per her statement, the family was passing through financial crises, hence allegedly consumed poison. This is a developing story; hence, we are looking into the matter in detail.”

    It is also suspected that the decomposed corpses have been recovered after four to five days of the incident.

    The incident had sparked a sensation in the entire area.
