Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a man died on-spot after being hit by an oil tanker in Assam’s Golaghat district on Saturday morning.
The accident took place in the Bokakhat area, near Y2K Dhaba in the district.
As per sources, the man was on a cycle on the side of the road when the speeding tanker hit him.
Meanwhile, the driver of the tanker fled the spot after the accident. The identity of the cyclist is yet to be ascertained.
In another incident, a 22-year-old police constable died in a road mishap in the Nalbari district on Friday night.
The incident took place on National Highway 31 in the Dhamdhama, near Ganesh temple.

The deceased has been identified as Khairul Ali.
As per sources, Ali was returning home from the police station when the speeding truck hit his motorcycle. As a result, he died on the spot.
