Two minor girls missing from Assam rescued in New Delhi, trafficking suspected

Guwahati: Two minor girls from Assam who had gone missing last week was rescued from the New Delhi railway station on Tuesday.

A joint operation was carried out by the Assam Police along with the Northeast wing of Delhi Police, as a result, two girls were rescued from the New Delhi railway station.

According to the sources, rescued minors were from Rowta, a small town located in the Udalguri district of Assam.

The two girls have been missing since July 29 and an FIR was registered by the girl’s families after which a search operation was started, sources said.

The girls were suspected to be victims of trafficking, said the official.

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to find the culprits in connection with the incident.
