Assam has reported two more novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Monday taking the total number of cases to 102.
Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet informed that among the two persons, one is from Jorhat and the other one is from Nagaon. Both of them are currently lodged in the quarantine centres.
As per sources, among the person from Jorhat belongs to Madhupur in Titabar and the one from Nagaon is from the Sutorupohi area. Both of them are 20 years old and are currently being treated.
Till date, the total number of cases confirmed is 102 and the number of active cases stands at 57 with 41 persons recovered while two confirmed deaths were recorded. Two people from the total number of cases have migrated from Assam to their home states.
Assam crossed the 100 cases mark on Sunday, May 17 and it has been suspected that there are several other such cases remaining in the state which can be termed as silent. The health department is now trying to track all the sources and silent carriers of the virus to eradicate the threat of the virus infection from the state.
