Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a forest official was suspected to be killed during train collision in Lumding elephant corridor in Hojai district on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Rabindra Saikia, who worked at the Forest Department.
Police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem reports. An investigation is underway.
In a separate accident on Wednesday morning an Assam Police jawan was killed in a train accident in Raha town of Nagaon district.
The deceased has been identified as Shankarjyoti Nath. Reportedly, Nath was killed after he fell from a running trainin Raha.
The deceased was a serving cadre in the Karimganj Assam police 15 Battalion. The body was sent for post mortem reports.
