Two Suspected Arms Dealers From Nagaland Held In Charaideo

Acting on specific information, the Indian Army in a joint operation with the Charaideo police on July 11th, 2019 launched an operation at Tingalibam area along the Assam-Nagaland border and nabbed two suspected arms dealers.

The duo have identified themselves as John Konyak(30) and Ayan Konyak. Both are residents of Namsa town under Mon district, Nagaland.

As per reports, the security forces during a regular checking intercepted a suspicious black Bajaj Pulsar bearing registration no AS04H4110 at around 6.30 pm yesterday near Tingalibam tea estate while it was moving towards Assam from Nagaland. The joint team immediately nabbed the duo and seized the bike.

One .22 pistol, hand-made rifle, three live bullets, one magazine, cash, mobile phone and several other objectionable things were recovered from their possession. Both the youths have been kept at Sonari Police Station.
