Two women killed during accident on Gangtok-Nathula road

Guwahati: In a tragic incident, two women were killed and one man was left injured in a road accident at 12th mile in East Sikkim on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Aruna Adhikari (27) who hailed from East Sikkim and Laxmi Lama (33) who hailed from Gangtok.

The injured driver, who was identified as Shamir Dewan, has been critically injured and admitted to a hospital for medical attention.

Reportedly, the accident took place when the trio was returning from Nathula border and their vehicle fell from 1,500 feet after skidding off the road, presumably due to snow.
