Ukraine Crisis: 40 Assam Students From Sumy Reached Polland Border

Guwahati: Around 40 students from Assam, stranded in war hit Ukraine’s Sumy, have reached Polland on Thursday. From Sumy they first reached Poltova and then Lviv via train and reached the bordering area on Wednesday night.

They were kept inside the train for several hours before clearing the immigration to enter Polland as there was heavy rush at the borders.

As shared by a student from Assam, they have passed through “green corridors” along highways and village roads from Sumy to Poltava covering a distance of 170 km which too around 12 hours.

A video message said that they have encountered many Russian forces on their way. Sources said that they might be leaving for India within the next 24 hours to reach Assam.
