    ULFA (I) appeals to follow COVID19 Protocols while celebrating Bihu

    Assam to celebrate Bohag Bihu, the Assamese new year on Wednesday onwards

    GUWAHATI: The Paresh Baruah-led militant outfit of ULFA (Independent) on Tuesday asked the people of the state to celebrate the upcoming Rongali Bihu festivities with full fervor but following the Covid 19 safety protocols in mind.

    In an email statement, the outfit while greeted the people of the state to discard all the negativity and celebrate Bihu by spreading love and happiness.

    “We urge everyone in Assam to strictly follow the Covid19 protocols issued by the World Health Organisation while celebrating Rongali Bihu,” the statement said.

    The state has recently seen a rising trend in the Covid 19 positive cases. On Monday, at least 583 new Covid positive cases were detected in the state taking the total numbers of active Covid10 positive cases to 2387. Guwahati alone recorded 193 Covid19 positive cases on Monday.
