Uncertainty mounts over sitting MLA Shiladitya Dev, BJP yet to announce candidate for Hojai

MLA Shiladitya also tendered his apology to BJP organizing Secretary Phani Sharma in New Delhi for being hypercritical over an issue

Guwahati: It may seem like all is not going well for BJP politician Shiladitya Dev, as it is still uncertain whether sitting Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev will be getting the party ticket for the upcoming assembly polls or not; however, the MLA said he would continue to fight the battle on his own.

Recently Dev took to social media to express his misery, in a Facebook post he said, “Jodi Tor Dak Shune Keu Na Ase Tobe Ekla Cholo Re (If no one responds to your call, then go your own way alone).”

Uncertainty mounts over sitting MLA Shiladitya Dev, BJP yet to announce candidate for Hojai

The twist in state politics came after BJP left out the Hojai constituency in the list of candidates announced for the 2021 assembly elections.

Furthermore, MLA Shiladitya Dev on Sunday tendered his apology to BJP organizing Secretary Phani Sharma in New Delhi for being hypercritical over an issue through media.

Speaking on the issue, Siladitya Dev said, “It was my mistake for not going with the facts properly and making an incorrect remark against him. I tried to rectify my mistake, but didn’t have the opportunity earlier”.

It may also be mentioned that revolt, resentment, anger and protest hit both the Ruling and Opposition parties as the exercise of ticket-distribution and sharing of seats for the ensuing Assembly elections in the State has reached the climax.
