    UPPL Alleges Corruption in BTC Transport Department

    The UPPL filed an FIR on the alleged "illegal" job appointments in BTC

    Guwahati: United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) has filed an FIR at the Kokrajhar Police Station alleging that the ‘Government of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC)’ has given several illegal job appointments to various people in the BTAD.

    In an FIR the UPPL stated, “For the greater interest of the people of this region, the complainant would like to submit before you that a total of 8 candidates have illegally been appointed in the Transport Department in the post of Assistant Enforcement Inspector without any official recommendation by the competent Central Selection Board (CSB).”

    The FIR further added, “However, on the sole ground of vested personal interest and by violating all the norms and procedures, the Joint Commissioner of Transport, Anil Chandra Deori has illegally directed the appointment of those eight of Assistant Enforcement Inspector under the direction of the concerned Secretary for Transport Department, BTC and the then concerned Executive Member of Transport Department, BTC, namely, Jagadish Sarkar.”

    It added that with a same kind of “anomaly”, 21 Enforcement Checker have illegally been appointed in the same Transport Department, without conduction of any interview or publishing of any appointments.

    “Moreover, same kind of illegal appointments on both fixed pay and regular pay basis through a corrupted procedure without conduction of any interview have thoroughly been made in several departments of Bodoland Territorial Council”, they added.
