Guwahati: Assam police is rightly cashing in on Twitter to raise awareness about things that matter. The state police, recently, have taken over Twitter to inform about the COVID-19 vaccination.
This time too Assam Police has created a buzz on the platform with its witty and relatable post as they used an illustration of ‘Game of Thrones’, an American fantasy drama television series, in their latest Tweet.
Informing the netizens that ‘Vaccine Is Coming’, they wrote: There is only one thing we say to #Corona: Not today! India’s #COVID19Vaccination drive has begun, we shall overcome! But, let’s not be complacent; Masks & Social Distancing continue be the key to safety. #VaccineIsComing.”
Meanwhile, Assam kicked off its Covid-19 vaccination drive on Saturday covering the healthcare workers in the state on day one.
The drive was launched formally in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) by health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal respectively.
After launching the vaccination drive, the health minister reiterated the need of wearing of masks, washing of hand and maintaining social distance.
Even after the minister pressing the needs of following COVID-19 protocols, people now-a-days seem to ‘forget’ about them. Wearing of masks or maintaining social distance can hardly be seen. However, no police action has been taken for violation of the protocols. Earlier, police used to impose fine on the people who did not follow the norms and now they seem inactive.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting the state soon, and a large number of public gatherings are expected, where social distancing norms might be flouted.
Also, the Assam Assembly Polls are nearing and political leaders are ought to hold the rallies and public meetings across the state, where these important norms and protocols might take a backseat.
