    Virat Kohli’s Photo Of Checking Guwahati Pitch Invites Hilarious Meme Fest

    In the world of Photoshop and other editing apps, fans made sure to make the most of the match being called off

    Even though the T20I series opener between India and Sri Lanka was abandoned due to the rain at the Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium, the fans of the Men In Blue gave the janta a reason to enjoy a good laugh.

    If the groundsmen at the stadium miffed the netizens for using a hairdryer to dry the damp pitch, the fans, the editing skills of the fans will leave you in splits.

    Indian skipper Virat Kohli had won the toss and opted to field first. However, it started to drizzle from 6:40 pm onwards. Rain water reportedly seeped through leaking covers that were used to cover the pitch at the Barsapara Stadium.

    Despite the ground staff trying hairdryers, steam irons and vacuum cleaners to dry the wet patches on the pitch, the match was called off without a ball bowled shortly before 10 pm local time.

    After the rain stopped, Kohli was seen down on his knees while taking monitoring the pitch conditions. The image was tweeted by BCCI and was captioned as: “Next inspection at 9.30 PM IST.*fingers crossed*”. The same image went viral and triggered a meme fest on social media.
