WB chief minister hits at BJP over ‘anti-Muslim’, ‘anti-Hindu’ behaviour

Guwahati, December 6: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee came down heavily on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday by saying “the BJP is an ‘anti-Muslim’ as well as ‘anti-Hindu’ political party”.

Mamata alleged that the saffron party has driven away both Muslims and Hindus from the country at different points of time.

Mamata accused BJP of playing ‘divide and rule’ politics in the country.

A report published in the www.timesnownews.com quoted Banerjee as, “The BJP has driven away Bengalis from Assam and Biharis from Gujarat. It drives away Muslims at times and Hindus at times from the country.”

Lashing out at the BJP over National Register of Citizens (NRC) issue, the WB CM alleged that 23 lakhs out of over 40 lakhs people excluded from the NRC draft are Hindu Bengalis.

The report also quoted her saying as, “The BJP is “killing the minorities, driving away Hindus and torturing Christians.”

It may be mentioned that the WB chief minister attacked the BJP earlier also over the NRC final draft that was published on July 30 this year.
