When will AGP pull out of coalition govt? asks Ripun Bora

Guwahati, September 14: Assam Congress president and Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora came down heavily on the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), an ally of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in Assam.

Bora also said that the BJP has failed to establish the connect with the people.

“The AGP is playing the victim’s card. The AGP is threatening to pull out of the coalition…but when will it…after the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 is passed?,” asked Bora.

The AGP has time and again threatened to pull out of the coalition if the controversial  Citizenship Bill was passed by the Centre.

The AGP leaders, led by State Agriculture Minister and president of AGP Atul Borah and State Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Phani Bhushan Choudhury, also met  Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on September 11 to discuss the Citizenship Bill.
