In a bizarre incident, a woman along with her family sustained serious injuries after her husband allegedly brutally attacked them with a machete and fled from the spot. The woman later succumbed to her injuries.

As per reports, the incident took place at Fatehpur a few kilometres from Lakhimpur district on July 16th, 2019. On the fateful day, the accused husband Jamal Uddin showed up at his in-laws’ place at Fatehpur to take his wife and daughter back home.

The locals informed that both the parties entered into a brawl after Uddin was denied to take custody of his wife. “Things turned soar after he(Uddin) lost his cool and in a fit of rage launched an attack leaving a blood bath at the family,” said a local.

Uddin’s wife Nasima Begum was killed in the incident, his father-in-law Nased Ali, Sofia Khatoon(mother-in-law) and his own daughter Shahida Begum sustained serious injuries. The trio has been sent to the North Lakhimpur Primary Health Centre.

The Bogalmora Police in the meantime, have nabbed the accused and interrogations are on in relation to the case.
