    Wild boar attack leaves four injured in Guwahati

    The wild boar appeared all of a sudden at around 8:10 AM this morning and attacked one Rajen Vaspor, one of the cleaning staffs of the press club. He received severe injuries in his leg, hands and stomach.”

    GUWAHATI: A wild boar on Saturday morning rampaged through the composite premises of the Guwahati Press club, Directorate of Archaeology and the Assam textile Institute near Ambari here and left four employees seriously injured.

    Guwahati press club employee Santosh Mahatu said, “The wild boar appeared all of a sudden at around 8:10 AM this morning and attacked one Rajen Vaspor, one of the cleaning staffs of the press club. He received severe injuries in his leg, hands and stomach.”

    According to Mahatu, two employees of the Directorate of Archaeology and another employee of the Assam Institute of Textile too were attacked by the wild boar.

    Among the four injured, one was immediately rushed to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, one to the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital while two others were rushed to the Wintrobe Hospitals for treatment.

    In the mean time, the Latasil police and forest department officials from Narengi visited the spot. However, the wild animal was yet to be confined.

    Notably, the CCTV camera installed at the Guwahati press club captured the moment of attacking Vaspor by the wild boar.
