Wildlife Experts rule out predator in livestock killing in Manipur

Imphal, December 4:The mystery behind the unknown ‘predator’ attack in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi has come to an end with the Wildlife Experts’ rule out.

However, the experts have no clue about the ‘predator’ that killed a number of livestock in the region.

A team of experts from Wildlife Institute of India (WII) has been investigating into the incidents of mysterious killing of livestock.

Killing of livestock was first reported in the month of October this year.

Meanwhile, officials of the state veterinary department, in its preliminary report, suggested that the livestock were killed by predators having sharp teeth.

But the WIID experts ruled out veterinary department’s suggestion.

Chief conservator of forest (CCF) Anurag Vajpayee said police would examine some cases of killing domestic animals in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi.
