Will Continue Practising Law If Not Offered Ticket To Contest LS Elections: RP Sharma

Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) MP from Tezpur, Ram Prasad Sharma on February 18th, 2019 said that he will continue practising his career in law if he is not offered a ticket to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha(LS) polls.

The BJP leader was speaking with the media on the sidelines of a party programme in Tezpur on Monday.

Meanwhile, rumours are doing the rounds that MGVK Bhanu who had recently joined the Congress on February 11th, 2019 would contest the LS elections from Tezpur constituency.

On being asked about Bhanu as a contesting candidate from Tezpur, the MP Sharma said, “I will be more than happy if i get an opportunity to contest against MGVK Bhanu who has recently joined Congress,”

Further adding, “Also if he(Bhanu) is offered the ticket to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from the Tezpur constituency, I will be extremely happy because it will be quite an exciting contest…I like him,”

On inquired about forging an alliance with the All India United Democratic Front(AIUDF), MP Sharma said, “We are not looking forward to forge an alliance with the AIUDF, but if they voluntarily approach us for a tie, we will welcome them,”
