Guwahati: At least three persons including, including a woman arrested for allegedly honey-trapping a temple priest and blackmailing him to extort money, official said on Saturday.
The accused, who were arrested, have been identified as Pramod Tiwari, Rajni Kothari and Bhavojit Sen.
A case has been registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code sections in Fatasil Police Station
As per sources, the accused convinced the victim priest to do friendship with her in WhatsApp and started making video calls.
The lady accused then began to blackmail the priest to demand money after filming the entire incident.
Later, other accused also started blackmailing him and demanded money from him, threatening to post his video on social media.
Following the incident, the priest lodged an FIR.
However, on Thursday,Tiwari, Rajni Kothari arrested from Fancy Bazar locality area, while Bhavojit Sen was arrested on Friday.
They were produced in the court and were sent to the judicial custody.
