Woman found dead in city under mysterious condition

Though there was a CCTV fixed on the campus, police informed that it was not working

GUWAHATI: A 62-year-old woman identified as Rina Das was found dead inside the washroom of her own residence in the city’s Pilingkata area on Monday night. Das was suspected to have been killed with sharp weapons.

She was living on the first floor of the house while her son and daughter in law were living on the ground floor.

According to the city police, the last time she had made a contact with her son was on Sunday evening. “On Monday morning when the daughter in law knocked on her door, there was no response. Thinking that she might be sleeping or out of the house, the family people left for their office works. Later in the evening when they did not get any response from her, they were worried. Later her body was found half-naked in a pool of blood inside the washroom,” police sources said.

Though there was a CCTV fixed on the campus, police informed that it was not working.
“Her door key, purse, mobile phone and a few other items were missing. The investigation will reveal more,” police added.
