Guwahati: An elderly woman was allegedly killed by her daughter-in-law in a village called Jajri in Nagaon’s Batadrava constituency on Tuesday.
According to reports, the victim identified as Sofiya Khatun was brutally attacked by her daughter-in-law Shamsul Neha with a hammer over a family dispute.
Sofiya Khatun who sustained a severe injury on her died subsequently.
Later, the villagers detained the accused daughter-in-law and informed the local police about the incident.
Meanwhile, police reached the spot and arrested the accused daughter-in-law Shamsul Neha.
