World-class housing infrastructure and shopping mall sought in Nagaon

Nagaon: Demand for green buildings and a world-class shopping mall with multiplex has been growing in the historic town on Nagaon. Locals said that despite located only some 100 km away from the capital city, Nagaon lacks infrastructural developments which could lead it towards becoming a smart city.

It has one of the oldest schools in Assam as well as the oldest cinema halls but when it comes into proper hi-level infrastructure, there are a lot of gaps.

It needs modern infrastructure such as malls with multiplexes and various other facilities as well as modernize housing complexes to make the district stand aside from all other districts in the region, said locals.

Green building refers to both a structure and the application of processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building’s life-cycle: from planning to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition.

There seems to be a demand for green buildings in the district too but so far.
